There are countless sites on the internet which contain valuable genealogical information. The following sites are ones which in my experience have been particularly helpful:

Microfilms

Most of the information which I have collected for my family tree has been found on microfilms of original documents. In most cases these films were made by the Church of Later Day Saints. Copies of the films are available at the archives where the original documents were found and through the Family History Centers of the Church.

It is likely that the film was full and that the remaining information was to be taken on a new film and spliced at this location of the roll. There is no further information indicating what happened. The period from 1847 to 1848 is incomplete or missing !!! (1) The following text is taken from the first page of the book. It was apparently preprinted and left blanks (shown as underlined below) to be filled in appropriately. Alternately, inappropriate words were struck. It was typical for all of the books on this microfilm except as noted under (2).
